Penny for your thoughts

Happiness comes in many forms -- in the company of good friends, in the feeling you get when you make someone else's dream come true, or in the promise of hope renewed. It's okay to let yourself be happy because you never know how fleeting that happiness might be.

I miss buying shoes

One thing I really miss is buying shoes, im a shoe addict, i dont know how many pairs i have, i lost track and stopped counting since 2nd year college. At present time though i havent bought a new one and its been what? like a month now i think, and im dying to get a pair! Im not imeldific i dont have a thousand pairs but i wouldnt mind if i did. When i look at my collection (its not much) I cant help but feel amazed, more so at how i feel when i dont get to buy more than one everytime i go to the mall, or when i realize that i dont have a certain color. ( hmm speaking of which i dont have red and blue yet )

Shoes are like candy to my eyes. There’s just so many styles and designs to choose from, each one is has its own distinct quality. You know how you get that urge to buy a new pair everytime you see one? Shopaholics i know u can relate to this. I get whacked everytime, I just have to get my hands on a pair! Here’s the thing im a fan of coordination and i believe that the shoes, belt and the bag should always match, so every pair completes your outfit for the day. The number of times you change a piece just to see if it would look alright or if it would suit an event, i cant even count, all the more astonishing about it is how you construct the actual outfit in your mind weeks before the party.

They may be charming but they get old, these shoes, they’re nice to look at but once your foot hurts,  your affection for it dies down. You wouldnt wear the pair and you wouldnt even remember it existed until you dig thru the pile in your rack looking for a different pair you thought you had.

These shoes are a part of my life, even my friends know me too well to tell what my type is. But there will come a time when you have to decide which ones to keep and which ones to give away to cousins far away in the province or to charity organizations. The process itself is hard, if you relate it to life, deciding on WHAT and WHO to hold on to, carefully and rationally thinking of what could happen after letting go without regreting the decision made. Sometimes you would realize you dont even have an idea why you bought the pair in the first place. Could be because they were in that time or nice looking, but that’s the thing we buy things out of impulse. You’ll just realize later on they were just useless.
